It All Started In A Café

They say that the Mac was born in Steve Job’s garage and that Harry Potter’s first lines were written on a napkin in a train, and whether or not these things are true, we can definitely say that Avanti Way was born, at least conceptually, in a café.

When the millennium dawned, a family situation landed Enrique Teran in Real Estate, far away from the MIS and IT worlds that he’d been emerged in during his last few years in college. What he found was an industry still working in the dark ages of technology. Thus, by 2001, he began to create his own transaction-based software, laying the framework to what would later become AVEX, Avanti Way’s 100% paperless system.

Enrique licensed the first beta software to thesmall group of agents that were then working at his mother’s real estate firm, CT International, and had managed to launch the company’s first e-fax by 2002, back when digital faxing was still relatively new.

In 2003, Andres Korda, a friend of Enrique’s, decided to invest in real estate while he pondered the possibility of entering the MBA program at Babson College, one of the highest ranked MBA’s in the nation. The program required that Andres present a real company to incubate during the MBA process, but Andres – whose own real estate investing had led to several frustrations with the industry – had yet to find the right idea.

In 2004, at a reunion in a Miami café, Andres and Enrique met for lunch to catch up and when the topic turned to Andres’ MBA, Enrique felt confident that he had the perfect idea.

The original concept, incubated and developed while at Babson, was to license a software company that could truly revolutionize the industry through an advanced transaction, contract and lead management system. But as they began to knock on the doors of the Miami-based Real Estate Brokers, they realized that the true challenge was in educating the Brokers themselves to see beyond the paper mounds and look towards virtual, internet-based technologies.

By 2005 it was clear that if they wanted to create a new generation of Real Estate Professionals, they would need to educate and empower their own agents first. In 2006, at the dawning of an industry crisis that would send a great number of real estate professionals packing, Andres Korda and Enrique Teran joined Cecilia Teran in officially opening the doors to a new kind of Real Estate firm: Avanti Way.

Free from the excess that spoiled the other Brokers before them, the crisis that followed helped tighten and strengthen the young company instead of weakening it, always reinvesting profits back into its patent-pending system, and always with the same lofty goal: to do Real Estate the right way – in an efficient, unified and transparent manner.

Several years later, Avanti Way is leading the Miami Real Estate industry through Innovation and Technology, creating a new generation of Real Estate Entrepreneurs ready for the digital age while finally changing the industry, one innovation at a time.

It’s a beautiful Tuesday morning as I am sitting down at my office trying to write this message to you before I get caught in the maelstrom of daily tasks. But I got this serious urge to get this message down immediately. Seriously though, I’ve had a bunch of thoughts on the this topic for a long time.

I want to write about the motivation you have to do things. It’s crucial that you have this concept crystalline clear. How can you get motivated? You might be inspired by others, but you… YOU must motivate yourself! Because just like spray paint on rust, motivation eventually wears off. And what you have left over afterwards, is your Commitment. Plain and simple.

It’s your Commitment that is going to carry you to success.

It’s like drawing a line in the sand and vowing to yourself that you’d NEVER go back, no matter what! DRAW the line my friend. Isn’t it time already? And if that’s the case, that’s great. But let’s be perfectly clear here: As far as I’m concerned, there is ONLY one type of “motivation”. And that is, SELF MOTIVATION.

Because if you cannot influence YOURSELF to get up, dress up and show up, nobody is going to ever going to join in and be a supporting cast in your performance. No matter what it is. No matter what your goals and dreams are. If you are not chasing them by doing the work day in and day out and staying focused and committed and showing up daily with that fire in your eyes and in your heart, nobody is going to “buy” you. Remember that before selling property, you are selling yourself.

So, back to the old question. You have HUGE dreams. How do you get and stay motivated?

You’ve got to want something to change and to be better than it is. Of course, you can be content and happy and able to live well wherever you are right now, emotionally, spiritually, and financially. Take into consideration that you are probably more wealthy than almost 98% of the rest of the world. Billions of people don’t even have a computer, let alone modern conditions to work in, as you do. So be sure not to take for granted that although you might not like where you’re at right now financially – it is NOT a life threatening condition you are dealing with.

However, if you want to bring to reality the changes that you want to make in your life, you’ve got to want it badly enough, that you are willing to push past the pain of doing NEW things; this will make your situation considerably better.

Whether it’s changing your habits.
Learning new skills.
Managing your time better.
Talking yourself INTO doing certain things.
Talking yourself OUT of doing certain other things.
Taking more responsibility for yourself and your life and your business.
Being fully accountable for yourself and your thoughts and your actions.

So, here’s where you might begin:

You can start by telling yourself a DIFFERENT story than you’ve always told yourself and others about why things aren’t the way you want them to be. You need to raise your awareness about how to take your own live to a place where you’ve always wanted to go.

The truth is that NOT doing what you have planned, and allowing yourself to make excuses for not getting up and doing what you were supposed to do, will actually make your life harder. Because if we condition ourselves to allow our “desire for comfort”, to take over our “desire for success” or, our desire to complete a task or keep a commitment or keep our word, we have lost the battle before even starting!

We get comfortable buying our own excuses and it will only take ONE to rob us of being our best and living a life of excellence. Because habits are developed very quickly, especially when our conscious mind sees the power of cause and effect. Your body does what your mind tells it to.

So how can YOU get & stay motivated?

Well, start by being focused more on what you do WANT, than what you don’t want. You either move away from pain, or towards pleasure, so instead of talking about what you don’t want (the pain), start talking more about what you DO want and what you are DOING to make it happen. When your Dreams are bigger than your Problems – and you take consistent & persistent action – You WIN. It’s called being an “Overcomer” and it’s how you must operate on a daily basis in order to achieve success and it’s how you get motivated & stay motivated.

Be clear on what you want. Be clear on what it will take to achieve it. Be clear on the actions you must take today, to move you closer to your goals. Because at the end of the day, the ONLY person responsible for your success – is YOU. When you are fully committed, and playing to win and focusing on what’s possible and talking about it with others who support you, you will bring and attract and create a level of energy that people LOVE to be around. Plain & simple. Nothing more, nothing less.

Get & stay motivated. You have the tools. You have the Group. You have the technology. You have the Company supporting your efforts. You have the goals, business plans, strategies, enhancer, videos, webinars and a long etc. But nothing will come to reality if you don’t do your job day after day. And I mean ALL of your jobs, because your challenge is NOT to accomplish your goals, it’s becoming the type of person you need to be to obtain them from life.

Avanti Way Introduces Agents Residuals For Life

Agent Referral Bonuses have been the subject of many industry controversies, ranging from the multi-level pyramids to the popular flat-fee reward. In line with their business goals of changing the Real Estate industry, Avanti Way has found a great formula that rewards in a fair and transparent way while automating the payment process and providing on demand accountability.

“One of the greatest things I love about working with AVEX is the transparency with which we can handle transactions. Everyone from the mortgage broker, the title company to the seller and the buyer are given access to the transaction with their own private portal, and everyone plays on level ground.” Explains Enrique Teran, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Avanti Way. “We wanted to create that same level of transparency with the Agent Sponsorship Referral Program.”

To be completely transparent, the process includes three steps: First, the referred agent is made aware that a Referral Program exists and that the referring agent or “Sponsor Agent” will receive a percentage of the referred agent’s commission, paid out from Avanti Way’s profits. Next, the referring agent is inputted into AVEX as the new agent’s “Sponsor”. The proprietary software will then track all of the new agent’s transactions and automatically issue residual checks every time the referred agent closes, for as long as both agents are with the company. Lastly, sponsor agents are given the ability to track the closings and progress of their sponsored teams on demand and right online.

Unlike other agent referral programs out there, Avanti Way’s program is easy to understand with no multi-levels and only one sponsor agent per new recruit. And the best part: if you ever retire from the business, you can still get your residuals as a retirement pension (but we’ll talk more about this in a later blog)!

Social Media Week Miami Kicks Off

The event started Saturday, continues strong today and lasts until friday night where it will end with a reception at the Betsy hotel in South Beach. Resorts Casinos & Sports Tourism, Disney and Genting go head-to-head

According to a recent Orlando Sentinel story, Genting’s not the only one lobbying Tallahassee this year with similar promises of “increasing jobs and tourism” for the state. It seems Disney and International Speedway Corp (owners of the Daytona International Speedway) have put together their own type of bill which has little to do with the ringing of slot machines, and a lot more to do with the screeching of burning rubber.

Both companies have joined forces to request some extensive tax-breaks that would allow them to create or redevelop several “Sports Tourism Zones”. Not unlike the Casino’s bill, these zones would require a minimum of dollars invested in order to reap any benefit and promise to bring increased jobs and tourism to the areas.

That one bill is playing for poker chips while the other is betting on a gas pass makes little difference. In the end, the promises are all the same.

In Tallahassee, it seems, this year’s the year of the “Resorts”, sports, gambling or otherwise.
